CAREER TECHNICAL EDUCATION (CTE) 
MARITIME OCCUPATIONS PROGRAM   

MARITIME CTE = OPPORTUNITIES!

After continuing on from the basic Maritime CTE program and upon completing this 3 year specialized program, high school students will be able to take advantage of the many opportunities presented to them.

Upon completing the program, Cadets will:

• - have the opportunity for entry level, high paying jobs aboard ships, literally anywhere in the world on deck, in the engine room or the galley

• - earn college credits at Owens Community College that are transferable to all Ohio colleges

• - receive International Maritime Organization/ United States’ Coast Guard approved course certification in STCW/BST

• - receive a TSA issued Transportation Workers Identification Credential  (TWIC)

• - receive a US Passport

• - receive a USCG Merchant Marine Document

• - be able to go onto either college Maritime Academies (such as, Great Lakes Maritime Academy, Maine Maritime, Mass Maritime, NY Maritime, Texas AM Maritime or Cal Maritime) or to the National Merchant Marine Academy, in Kings point, NY with a congressional appointment. • - complete their education for an Associates’ degree at Owens Community College or other 2 year state college

• - continue on with their pursuit of a Bachelors’ degree with transferable credit at any Ohio college
